Overview
Oundle School has an exciting opportunity for a Domestic Team Leader to join the School Services Team. The Domestic Team Leader (DTL) works closely with the Matron and Hsm in a boarding house or with the Head of Department to ensure the House or facility meets the standards specified in the Service Level Agreement (SLA). The DTL is a hands-on working role responsible for leading a team of five to eight Domestic Operatives (DOs), reporting functionally to a Senior Domestic Team Leader (SDTL).
The DTL benefits from mandatory training requirements and opportunities to develop through a School-wide management and supervisory skills programme, learn and develop Health and Safety aspects for the role, gain further knowledge of Oundle School Handbook Policies, and coach DOs in Safer Systems of Work in cleaning and laundry duties.
The DTL works during both term time (including pre and post term) and during Enterprise Lets periods during School holidays to ensure the fabric and cleanliness of the School is maintained in accordance with the SLA, irrespective of the occupants.
Oundle and Laxton Junior Schools have long been associated with the best of modern independent education, especially boarding. Over 1400 pupils are on roll at the School, of whom 840 are full boarders. Academic results are steadfastly excellent.
A team of around 800 staff, both academic and support, ensure an education of the highest standard is in place across the Schools with the efforts of the whole team focused on this fundamental aim.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of five to eight Domestic Operatives (DOs).
- Work closely with the Matron and Housemaster/Housemistress (Hsm) in a boarding House or with the Head of Department to meet SLA standards.
- Operate in a hands-on capacity while managing day-to-day cleaning and laundry duties.
- Report functionally to a Senior Domestic Team Leader (SDTL).
- Participate in mandatory training and engage in the School-wide management and supervisory skills programme.
- Develop Health and Safety aspects for the role and coach DOs in Safer Systems of Work.
- Maintain the fabric and cleanliness of the School during term time and Enterprise Lets periods.
