Responsible for the maintenance, presentation, and overall condition of the golf course and surrounding grounds. Duties include carrying out a range of greenkeeping tasks to ensure high-quality playing surfaces, well-maintained landscapes, and an excellent experience for all members, guests, and visitors. You will assist with course preparation, turf care, machinery operation, bunker maintenance, and general upkeep while working as part of the greenkeeping team to maintain the highest standards across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out day-to-day golf course maintenance including mowing, bunker preparation, divoting and turf repairs.
- Assist with daily course set-up to required playing standards (tee markers, hole changing, greens preparation, signage, etc.).
- Support the delivery of seasonal agronomic practices such as topdressing, aeration, overseeding and spraying (subject to competencies).
- Maintain course surrounds, paths, practice areas and irrigation points to the highest presentation standards.
- Operate and care for machinery and tools in a safe and responsible manner.
- Follow all club health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised work environment, reporting issues to senior greenkeeper.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider Club vision and ensure a high-quality member and visitor experience.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience of grounds maintenance or similar.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekend rota and seasonal demands as required.
- PA1/PA2/PA6 chemical application certificates beneficial, but training can be provided.
- Experience maintaining and repairing machinery, tools and equipment.
- A minimum of 1-year Greenkeeping experience.
- A strong understanding of health & safety.
- A good understanding of golf is desirable.
