About Ought2

Ought2 is a small, family-run company specialising in biophilic design. We create beautiful interiors using preserved moss walls, replica planting, living walls, interior planting and bespoke botanical installations for commercial and residential clients across the UK.

As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an enthusiastic, practical and creative person to join our team. This is a varied position where no two days are the same.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on role combining design, sales, plant care, product creation and installation. You'll be involved in projects from the initial customer enquiry and design stage right through to manufacturing, installation and ongoing maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain interior plants and planting displays at customer sites.
  • Work with customers to understand their requirements and develop suitable designs and solutions.
  • Assist with sales, quotations and project proposals.
  • Create designs for planting schemes, moss walls and other biophilic features.
  • Help manufacture and create bespoke products within our workshop.
  • Assist with installations at customer sites across the UK.
  • Help prepare materials and products ready for installation.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Represent Ought2 professionally when dealing with customers and working on client premises.
  • Assist with other areas of the business when required.

About You

We're looking for someone who is creative, practical and comfortable working in a small business where everyone gets involved. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a positive, proactive and can-do attitude.
  • Be reliable, trustworthy and willing to learn.
  • Have a strong eye for design, colour, detail and presentation.
  • Be confident communicating with customers.
  • Enjoy both creative and practical, hands-on work.
  • Be comfortable working independently and as part of a small team.
  • Be flexible and adaptable depending on the needs of the business.
  • Be willing to travel to customer sites when required.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.

Previous experience or qualifications in Design, Interior Design or a related creative field would be preferable. Experience within horticulture, interior landscaping, floristry, visual merchandising, or another practical/creative environment would also be advantageous, although training can be provided.

Working Hours

This is a part-time position working 2 days per week, with the opportunity for additional overtime depending on the workload and requirements of the business. The specific working days may vary from week to week depending on projects, installations and customer requirements. However, working days will be planned and communicated approximately one month in advance, allowing you to plan around your schedule. Due to the nature of our work, some projects and installations may occasionally require early mornings, evenings, overnight stays or weekend work. Flexibility is therefore important, and these requirements will be planned in advance wherever possible. This role would particularly suit someone looking for a flexible part-time position who is also happy to take on additional hours during busier periods.

Why Join Ought2?

This isn't a role where you'll be doing the same thing every day. One day you could be visiting customers and servicing their plants, the next helping design a new office planting scheme, creating a bespoke moss wall in our workshop or travelling to install a completed project. We're looking for someone who wants to grow with the business, develop their skills and become an important part of a small team delivering creative biophilic projects across the UK.
