Ottoman Hands is an independent jewellery brand that beautifully blends Eastern and Western design to craft handcrafted, sustainable jewellery pieces. Founded by Deniz Gürdal on London’s iconic Portobello Road in 2010, our brand has organically flourished, becoming a favourite among stars and featured prominently in blockbuster shows such as Emily in Paris, Game of Thrones, and Sex Education. Nestled on East London’s vibrant Whitechapel Road, we design small batches of unique jewellery, meticulously crafted by hand in our Istanbul workshop.
About The Role: This is a central, hands-on role combining Shopify ownership, ecommerce trading, performance analysis and integrated campaign planning. You will be responsible for driving website performance and translating commercial priorities into coordinated activity across paid media, CRM, social and PR. We are looking for an experienced Ecommerce & Trading Manager, while also welcoming applications from Senior Ecommerce Executives ready to take the next step in their careers. You will manage our paid media agency and work closely with our in-house PR Manager, Social and Content team, and external CRM freelancer to deliver cohesive, commercially effective campaigns.
Contract: Full-time or Part-time, permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM) flexible

Key Responsibilities: As the Ecommerce & Trading Manager, you will collaborate with our fun and dynamic in-house ecommerce team, working across product, promotions, and operations. Your key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring timely product launches, optimising site merchandising to increase conversion rates and average order value (AOV), and identifying growth opportunities.
- Own day-to-day ecommerce trading, monitoring revenue, conversion, AOV, traffic and product performance against targets and identifying actions to drive growth.
- Driving website optimisation to deliver a seamless customer experience and maximize online sales through effective product management, site optimisation, and content creation using data-driven insights.
- Executing engaging multichannel marketing campaigns leveraging data, PR, and influencer partnerships.
- Managing our agency partner, and the creative for paid advertising campaigns, across Google Ads and Meta platforms to drive traffic and conversions.
- Managing our email strategy, and managing our email partner in designing and implementing engaging email newsletters to support marketing campaigns and enhance customer retention.
- Staying ahead of industry trends and competitor behaviour to inform and enhance marketing strategies.
Person Requirements: We are seeking a self-motivated, confident, and experienced all-rounder with a background in ecommerce and marketing. This role offers a rare opportunity to join a dynamic business during an exciting phase of international market expansion.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience using Shopify within a consumer, retail, fashion, beauty, lifestyle or similarly product-led brand.
- A sound understanding of ecommerce trading, onsite merchandising, conversion optimization and the end-to-end customer journey.
- Confidence interpreting ecommerce and marketing data and communicating the actions that should follow.
- Experience planning and coordinating multichannel campaigns or product launches across several internal and external contributors.
- Ability to manage priorities, deadlines and stakeholders with limited supervision in a small, fast-moving team.
- Strong written and verbal communication, good commercial judgement and close attention to detail.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and genuine interest in brand building and customer experience.
- Genuine passion for marketing and a proactive approach to staying ahead of industry trends.
Useful Additional Experience:
- Managing a paid media agency and understanding Meta and Google Ads performance.
- Working knowledge of CRM and retention marketing, ideally including Klaviyo or a similar platform.
- Experience with GA4, Shopify reporting, dashboards, testing or CRO tools.
- International ecommerce, Shopify Markets, localisation or cross-border trading experience.
- Managing ecommerce apps, technical integrations, developers or digital projects.
