At Ottolenghi, people are at the heart of everything we do, and we would like our people team to reflect that. We’re looking for a HR and Payroll Advisor to join our team at Ottolenghi HQ. This is a hands-on role combining payroll with broad HR and employee relations support. You’ll work closely with finance, operations and external partners to ensure our payroll, HR and Tronc processes are robust, compliant and people first.

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver accurate, timely monthly payroll for hourly and salaried team, including Tronc administration, statutory payments and deductions.
  • Champion compliance and best practice across payroll and HR, supporting audits and ensuring we meet HMRC and employment legislation requirements.
  • Be a trusted, approachable first point of contact for payroll, Tronc and HR queries, resolving issues with care, clarity and professionalism.
  • Support a great employee experience by maintaining accurate records and managing starter, leaver, time & attendance, Rota and absence processes.
  • Partner with managers to support the employee lifecycle, including recruitment administration, benefits, bonuses and employee relations processes.
  • Provide clear reporting and insight while building strong, collaborative relationships with external providers across payroll, Tronc, pensions and systems.

About you

  • An organized people-focused person, experienced in Payroll & Generalist HR.
  • Great at using MS Excel with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Payroll and employment legislation.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality with the ability to make the complex simple.
  • CIPD or CIPP Foundation qualifications desirable.
