Otto James Consulting is supporting a growing PE backed organisation who has recently progressed through the second tranche of significant investment. Our client is currently expanding rapidly into key European cities and therefore there is an immediate need to support the UK and Ireland business as they focus on Franco-German expansion. This heralds an exciting time for a talented Financial Accountant to enter the business and support these plans, while also receiving growth, development and mentorship from the senior management team.

With the development of processes, systems and reporting that accompany rapid expansion, the role and group offer significant personal development opportunities for the successful candidate. This is a fast paced and energised group, so they are looking for a Group Reporting Accountant / Financial Accountant who will bring a balance of great technical and interpersonal skills, while having the drive to realise the potential of both themselves and the group. The role is based in the client’s new offices on New York Street, Manchester City Center.

This role sits within the growing group finance function, enabling exposure to all aspects of the business and maximising the ability to influence change. As the group grows, this role is expected to increase in responsibility. You will be analytical in thinking, able to present information, issues identified with potential solutions. As the Group Reporting Accountant you will be focused and organised in implementing solutions. On top of that you should be a passionate and positive finance professional who wants to make a difference and contribute to the continuous improvement of the business.

The role will require experience in stakeholder management, as it involves regular communication with key stakeholders and preparing deliverables that clearly articulate complex and business critical principles around the group's financial performance and position, valuations, and cash flow management. This is a varied role with exposure to a number of different areas of finance and the group. The role is critical to the successful preparation of a number of reporting deliverables including quarterly consolidated reporting to the shareholders and business valuations as well as preparing information for ad hoc requests from the management committee and shareholders. You will also oversee the monthly close process for the group's corporate entities and weekly group cash flow management.

As we look to optimise its performance, this role will be required to support the automation of reporting. The role will also support the ongoing step change within the Finance team and wider business to implement a controls framework as well as identifying control gaps and opportunities for improvement. You will also be required to provide technical accounting input as required.

The Successful Applicant Experience & Qualifications:

  • A Qualified Accountant (ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA) with post qualification experience
  • Strong technical background and skillset
  • Experience of consolidation/ working in a multi-entity environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven track record of delivering and implementing step change (passion and curiosity for improvement)

Salary & Benefits

In return, you can expect an annual salary between £45,000-£52,000.
