Otto James Consulting have been engaged in an exclusively retained assignment for one of the UK’s fastest growing renewable energy organisations, based in the Wilmslow (SK9) area. The requirement of a Financial Controller’s position follows private equity investment from KKR in 2025, with the second tranche of investment for acquisition H2 2026. The successful Financial Controller is a flagship hire, as they will be tasked with targeting, acquiring and integrating growth areas with this war-chest. The Financial Controller will be integral in the stewardship of the organisation as they look at where their UK and Pan European expansion will take a foothold, while also delivering the growth of the internal finance team.

The Role
There is a high level of strategic engagement and growth which will be the cornerstone of your role, while there is also a high element of taking the current team through the processes that will be required to bring in their future plans:
- Commercial Management Reporting Pack
- Statutory Reporting
- Budgeting and Forecasting – creating uniformity across divisions and Business Partnering senior managers
- KPI creation for Sales & Operations
- Management Accounts – taking variances and action points to stakeholders
- Project Management
- Ad-hoc Reporting
The role is of project nature and presents the opportunity to apply commercial acumen, intellect, intuition and observational & listening skills to:
- Evaluate new operational and commercial initiatives
- Provide analysis around capital expenditure investment decisions
- Monitor financial performance in new business areas
- Improve financial processes and controls.
You will be responsible for the creation and delivery of a reporting suite which will be to a senior stakeholder group, who are not all from a finance background. Therefore, your communicative skills will be utilised here.
Salary £86,500 to £97,000
