Otto James Consulting is supporting a Manchester City Center client in their search for a newly created Group Management Accountant position. 2026 has seen our client go through seismic change, revolutionising their reporting lines, highlighting an immediate need for talent in their forward-looking finance reporting. Private Equity backing from Maven Capital Partners has facilitated the next tranche of growth, leading to a focus on talent within the current team and the addition of forward-thinking, ambitious, communicative business partners looking for their next career step. Responsibilities will consist of, but not be restricted to:
- Working closely with the Group Finance Director
- Delivering to Sales and Operation on KPI's
- Producing the monthly management accounts including variance analysis and commentary for local and Group management
- Providing accurate analysis of costs, margins and profitability
- Tracking costs monthly against budgets, flagging up trends and investigating variances
- Managing regular stock
- Preparing and submitting monthly payroll and pension
- Ownership of the year-end accounts processes to prepare information for Group
- Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts
- Supporting the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors
- Maintaining financial controls and processes and actively contributing to the development of company processes
- Monitoring accuracy of financial systems across the business and working with others on continuous improvement and best practice
The Person:
This role will suit a proactive, commercially astute qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience gained in manufacturing or similar. You'll be a first-rate communicator with experience of staff management and finance business partnering of operational colleagues. Required experience includes management accounting, budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting and financial analysis such as cost, margin, and WIP analysis. You will enjoy using your data analysis skills to provide clarity to the business. A natural problem-solver, you'll be able to prioritise and meet deadlines in fast-paced businesses. You will be a team player and enjoy working in a collaborative manner with colleagues at all levels in the group.
