A Credit Manager role for leaders who understand Credit is beyond chasing debt and being collaborative with internal and external stakeholders. Otto James is partnering with an international technology organisation in the search to appoint a Credit Control Manager for their global head offices in Cheshire to transform how collections operates across the business.
The Credit Control Manager is a senior opportunity for someone who understands that sustainable cash improvement comes from process, analysis and control, not volume chasing.
The Role
As Credit Control Manager, you will drive the Credit Function and plan out credit performance, structure and strategy. The focus is on identifying why payments aren’t being made, fixing upstream issues, and embedding disciplined processes that scale.
Key Role Activities:
- Implement clear controls, dunning processes and KPIs
- Investigate complex or delayed payments
- Reduce debtor days through root-cause resolution
- Act as senior escalation point internally and externally
- Work closely with finance, commercial and operational teams
Experience:
- Experience as a Credit Manager, Collections Manager or Head of Collections
- Track record of improving collections through controls and process change
- Strong analytical and investigative capability
- Confident managing complexity and stakeholders
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals (cash, debits/credits, intercompany)
We have the requirement for a talented credit professional who is senior, transformation-led and visible to the business. Someone with excellent communication skills, articulate and analytically minded.
Our client base is not one that requires an aggressive chase! Therefore, if this is your experience, please do not apply. We’re looking for highly collaborative applications, and for applicants who are happy to work under their own guidance, as the role is 3 days home based (We’re happy for the successful applicant to work from home as much as 4 days, but we do require the individual to be Cheshire based or commutable to the office when needed).
