My client is a highly respected Hampshire law firm with an impressive track record of excellence and a real commitment to personal, high-quality service. Their Residential Property team is growing, and they are now looking for a skilled Conveyancing Assistant to join a friendly, well‑established department made up of six fee earners and eight assistants. This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys being the steady, reassuring contact point for clients. You will often be the person they speak to most throughout their conveyancing journey. What you’ll be doing:
- Acting as a key point of daily contact for clients, keeping them updated throughout their transaction
- Managing all administrative aspects of the conveyancing process from instruction to completion
- Opening and closing files, preparing engagement papers and handling general admin tasks
- Drafting documents, correspondence and using digital dictation confidently
- Preparing invoices, completion statements and supporting the billing process
- Taking new enquiries and sending formal quotations
- Processing straightforward exchanges and completions
- Ordering official copies, property searches, SDLT returns and submitting Land Registry applications
What we’re looking for:
- At least 3 years experience as a Conveyancing Assistant or legal secretary within residential property
- Highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing a busy workload
- Fast, accurate typing skills and experience with digital dictation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, ideally Excel) and case management systems
- A friendly, calm and professional manner with clients
- Someone flexible, team‑oriented and happy to get stuck in
