Otter Garden Centres is a well-known and much-loved family business across the South West. For over 60 years, we have continued to grow and evolve, becoming one of the largest and most successful garden centre groups in the UK. We are now seeking an experienced and inspiring Branch Manager to lead our Bristol Centre. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic retail leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences, developing high-performing teams and driving commercial success.
The Role
- As Branch Manager you will have full responsibility for the leadership, performance and ongoing development of the centre.
- You will lead by example, creating a customer-focused culture while ensuring operational excellence and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver retail development projects to enhance the customer experience and commercial performance.
- Lead, coach and motivate a large team to maximise sales and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Manage the overall operation of the centre, ensuring all commercial and operational targets are achieved.
- Drive sales growth through effective sales floor management and the implementation of company initiatives and promotions.
- Ensure exceptional standards of product knowledge and customer engagement at all times.
- Recruit, develop and retain the right people, providing effective training from induction through to specialist development.
- Oversee stock control, administration, merchandising and presentation to ensure standards are consistently met.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, including Health & Safety and Security, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

- A proven people leader with experience managing a large team in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Commercially driven with a strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Experienced in managing retail operations and leading change or development projects.
- Customer-focused, with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
