We’re looking for a passionate and organised Head Chef to lead the kitchen in our busy garden centre restaurant. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in maintaining exceptional cleanliness, strong operational standards, and strict compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations, while delivering consistently great food for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train and motivate the kitchen team to maintain high operational standards
- Ensure the kitchen and food preparation areas are maintained to exceptional cleanliness standards at all times
- Take full responsibility for Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Environmental Health compliance.
- Carry out and record daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules
- Maintain full compliance with temperature control, food storage and stock rotation procedures (FIFO)
- Conduct regular kitchen audits and safety checks to ensure standards are consistently met
- Manage kitchen operations including stock control, ordering, and waste management
- Ensure all equipment is maintained, safe and used correctly
- Support the wider management team in delivering efficient day-to-day operations
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a busy kitchen
- Strong knowledge of Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations
- A highly organised approach with excellent attention to detail
- A commitment to cleanliness, structure and operational excellence
- Experience implementing cleaning systems and compliance documentation
- Level 3 Food Hygiene (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and support a team

- Daytime hours 8-4.30
- No split shifts
