Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Business Development Manager Meteorology West and South Europe is responsible for creating winning conditions for Kipp&Zonen with European Channels and target Accounts in West and South Europe across all Meteorology segments which results in incremental growth of revenue and profitability expectations while also developing strong growth of future opportunities as a result of building reliable sales funnels. This position is remote and the candidates should be ideally located in Aix‑en‑Provence, Bilbao or Sheffield.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Achieve assigned financial objectives and KPI’s through Monthly Forecast and Funnel Review Process for assigned accounts, countries and territories with major emphasis on share of wallet expansion.
  • Regularly assess channels & target Accounts, defines their growth potential/targets and develops strategies to achieve growth targets from those accounts in the given territory.
  • Conduct regular meetings with key account decision makers and Channel Partners to understand evolving requirements to identify opportunities for upselling and cross‑selling.
  • Stay on top of industry trends through collaboration with peers, industry publications, and industry conference attendance.
  • Manage and measure account performance using KPI’s, identify gaps in performance, communicate and institute countermeasures during quarterly business reviews with customers where appropriate to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrates time & territory balance and is responsible for the effective execution of sales plans through channel & target Accounts and manages conflicts which may arise with the Kipp&Zonen Channel network.
  • Actively seeks and develops new business opportunities with direct and indirect channels through a variety of sales activities and tactics such as consultative selling.
  • Identify prospects, establish and maintain relationships with authorities, engineering firms and other accounts that influence the buying decisions of the customer in assigned territory.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts, complex projects and customer‑specific product development initiatives through various internal departments including Legal, Finance, R&D, Strategic Marketing, Sales, Service and Customer Support.
  • Analyze competitors’ activities, pricing strategies, and market positioning to identify competitive advantages and adjust sales approaches accordingly.
  • Participate in sales activities including customer site visits, telephone contacts, trade fairs, seminars, workshops and shows, product demonstrations/evaluations, customer seminars and channel management.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Highschool Diploma, Bachelor and/or Master in Environmental Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years of sales experience with Channel Partner & Key Accounts in Met business preferred.
  • Demonstrated relational and presentation skills, including ability to communicate with people of various technical backgrounds.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the use of a CRM tool for funnel management and forecasting.
  • Fluent written and spoken French and English, Spanish is an advantage.
  • Ability to travel as required within South and West Europe with a valid driver's license.
  • Self‑motivated with a customer focused mindset.
