Otis are currently seeking an NVQ Level 4 qualified Tester / Technician to join the Major Projects New Equipment Installation Team in order to ensure that all new lift, escalator and travelator installations within our construction portfolio are fully tested and compliant / fit for use, providing technical support to other Field Test Engineers across the business and training new Field Test Engineers and Installation Engineers in adjusting/commissioning units.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Personally testing and commissioning complex multi-unit sites with highly technical interfaces such as Compass and Elevator Management System (EMS).
- Managing other test engineers on multi-unit sites to ensure safe and efficient testing and commissioning.
- Providing technical support on site to other test engineers with a view to up-skilling all test engineers, auditing test and EN81 (compliance) handover paperwork.
- Undertaking client liaison during the testing of large multi-unit sites and attending commissioning meetings as required, assisting with new bids when there are special technical requirements.
- Undertaking quality readings on completion of a project, providing a seamless handover from New Equipment to Service and supporting service on technical issues on site during the Quality Operating Period and on an ad-hoc basis.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of Lift and / or Escalator Industry Testing with Qualifications to NVQ4 equivalent.
- Good knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering principles such as Relevant Lift Codes i.e. EN81 Part 2 etc.
- IT Literacy with MS Excel and MS Outlook abilities.
