We are seeking an experienced Lift Installation Engineer to join our team delivering lift installation projects across the London Underground network and similar transport infrastructure environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, assembly, testing, and commissioning support of passenger and goods lifts, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest industry standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer with a strong background in lift installation who is comfortable working within safety-critical, regulated environments and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install lift equipment in accordance with manufacturers' specifications, engineering drawings, and project requirements.
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical installation of lift systems, including guide rails, machines, doors, controllers, and associated components.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation documentation.
  • Work safely within London Underground, rail, and other infrastructure environments, adhering to all site-specific safety requirements.
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks throughout the installation process.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Identify and report installation issues, defects, or project risks.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
  • Liaise professionally with supervisors, project managers, clients, and other trade contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety legislation, and industry standards.

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Lift Installation or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Proven experience as a Lift Installation Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of lift installation processes, equipment, and industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements in construction and infrastructure environments.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working on London Underground, Rail, Transport for London (TfL), Network Rail, or similar infrastructure projects.
  • SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS, or equivalent site safety qualifications.
  • London Underground Sentinel, ICI, or other rail competency certifications.
  • Experience with major lift manufacturers.
