We are seeking an experienced escalator call out and repair engineer to join our Transport for London team, covering our London Underground escalator portfolio. Your priority is to ensure the safety of passengers and technical stakeholders by safely maintaining a portfolio of escalator units.
Typical Responsibilities
- Carry out breakdown and repair work on all escalators within the portfolio to achieve continual operation.
- Work within London Underground network, managing the portfolio of escalators within it.
- Respond proactively and quickly to fix any breakdowns, aiming to achieve first time fix.
- Liaise directly with the customer while on site to build a good working relationship.
Qualifications
- Qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Engineering with significant experience in service and maintenance of escalators.
- Experienced escalator engineer with in-depth knowledge of a variety of different brands of equipment.
- Hold a valid UK driver’s licence.
- Flexibility and willingness to work overtime as required.
- Good skills in mechanical and electrical engineering.
- Committed professional with safety as priority.
- Comfortable communicating to others.
- Curious, adaptable, and able to work alone or in a team.
- Comfortable using electronic and digital tools.
