The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 £ per year.

We are currently seeking an experienced escalator call out and repair engineer to join our Transport for London team, covering our London Underground escalator portfolio. Your priority is to ensure the safety of passengers and technical stakeholders by safely maintaining a portfolio of escalator units.

On a typical day you will:

  • Carry out breakdown and repair work on all escalators within the portfolio to achieve continual operation
  • Work within the London Underground network, managing the portfolio of escalators within it
  • Respond proactively and quickly to fix any breakdowns, aiming to achieve first‑time fix
  • Liaise directly with the customer while on site to build a good working relationship

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Engineering or equivalent, with significant experience in service and maintenance of escalators
  • Experience as an escalator engineer with in‑depth knowledge of a variety of different brands of equipment
  • Valid UK driver’s licence
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required
  • Strong mechanical and electrical engineering skills
  • Commitment to safety as a priority
  • Good communication skills
  • Curiosity, adaptability, ability to work alone or in a team
  • Comfortable using electronic and digital tools
