Other Media is a strategy-led digital agency with a track record of innovative, award-winning work and a growing portfolio of clients in sport. We match data-driven, strategic insights with delightful customer experiences and seamless systems integration to produce great web and mobile projects. We also invest in ongoing R&D to keep our thinking fresh and our creative and technical teams at the top of their game.

Our mission is to help ambitious sports organisations amplify this impact by harnessing the potential of digital. We work with football clubs, rugby clubs and supporting organisations from the Premier League to League 2, across Europe. We also have a strong presence in Ecommerce having built Ecommerce businesses for a range of leading retailers.

As the business continues to grow, an opportunity has arisen to join and lead our creative team, championing for best in class UI / UX across all our outputs, supporting our clients as well as our ongoing product roadmap and other business needs.

We are looking to recruit a pro-active and driven design leader with at least 5+ years of experience working within digital, preferably with experience leading and mentoring members of a team as our Creative Lead. This role is suited for someone who wants to work with a variety of clients, across a number of digital touch-points (web / native app / voice / connected TV etc) while contributing to a healthy product development roadmap, enhancing both the fan and editorial experience.

Your role will be working on a number of digital design projects across web and native mobile apps for our clients and prospects. These will include new builds, phased redesigns and stand alone projects working closely with the creative team, front-end team, back-end team and project managers to ensure that the quality of our output is of the highest quality. An attention to detail and an ability to solve complex UI and UX challenges will be essential along with the ability to present to our clients and prospects.

You will work closely with the sales and commercial team to interpret creative briefs, taking existing brand guidelines and enhancing or interpreting them digitally, to create best in class digital experiences that serve the user and assist in generating ROI and increased fan engagement for the client.

You will assist on creative pitches and contribute to the Senior Management team speaking for your department and collaborating on growth strategies to build new and existing business. You will be required to meet and communicate with clients to showcase your designs and discuss deliverables and project objectives, so a confidence in your work and presenting is essential to have an impact on driving success.

You should also bring new ideas to the team with an understanding of the latest thinking and opportunities that digital technology provides. You should be happy to get hands-on and learn something new and can bring a fresh perspective to our toolset helping to identify new opportunities.

You should understand how to prototype and construct wireframes or process flows to help direct projects and complex UX scenarios. Fresh eyes bring opportunities to improve our processes and streamline the operation. You’ve probably used the Adobe creative suite at some point, and it’s good to know Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign.

You should have a strong portfolio and we want to see problem solving and beautiful, well crafted UI, be it front end or back end. A lot of our clients are in the sporting sector so an understanding of sport is hugely beneficial. What a fan requires before kick-off is different to what they need after the final whistle.

A love of brand and identity. An idea of what makes a great identity, and how it features in the overarching brand story. Can you take an existing brand and get under its skin? Unveil its character and either iterate on the foundations or apply it.

Some HTML / CSS Knowledge. Information Architecture & User Experience Skills. You can map a website, and visually communicate the decisions a user needs to take. You have designed experiences for both mobile applications and websites. You know the limitations of responsive web, and think about the mobile experience in equal measure to what the user sees on their 16” laptop.

We’re in this together and we succeed as a team with comprehensive on-boarding and induction, 25 days holiday (increasing by 1 additional day per year after 5 years of service), staff bonus scheme, additional Friday off as a work/life balance day where there is no Bank Holiday in the month.
