We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Part-Time Finance Assistant to support our finance function. This remote role is ideal for someone who is self-motivated and has experience in financial administration, credit control, and invoicing. You will play a key role in maintaining the smooth operation of our day-to-day finance activities, supporting both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Our Finance Assistant will work closely with our Finance Manager to provide best-in-class accounting support to our UK and US roster.

The role reports to our Finance Manager.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Job Details:

  • Job Title: Part-Time Finance Assistant (Remote)
  • Location: Remote (UK-based applicants only)
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day (20 hours per week)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract Type: Part-Time, Permanent

Credit Control:

  • Monitor and chase outstanding payments from clients.
  • Send regular reminders and follow-ups professionally.
  • Maintain accurate records of communications and payment statuses.

Invoicing:

  • Prepare and issue sales invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Reconcile invoice records and respond to client queries.
  • Ensure all invoices are correctly coded and approved.

Accounts Payable Support:

  • Process supplier invoices and manage payment schedules.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding queries or discrepancies.
  • Assist with expense claims processing.

Bank Reconciliations:

  • Reconcile bank transactions and maintain accurate cash flow tracking.
  • Match payments to invoices and investigate discrepancies.

General Finance Admin:

  • Maintain accurate records and filing systems (digital).
  • Support with the preparation of monthly reports and VAT returns.
  • Collaborate with accountants/bookkeepers during month-end and year-end processes.
  • Assist with end-of-month payment processes, including scheduling communications, updating financial records, and ensuring all supporting documentation is accurately prepared and submitted.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Proven experience in a finance or accounting assistant role (minimum 1 year).
  • Knowledge of UK financial procedures and terminology.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
  • Reliable internet connection and home office setup.
  • Experience working remotely.
  • Knowledge of payroll administration or bookkeeping.
  • AAT (or similar) qualification or studying towards a relevant qualification (desirable but not essential).
