As a Talent Director (Sports), you’ll be responsible for:
- Managing and developing a roster of emerging and established sports talent.
- Leading the sports division, including sports strategy, talent development, hiring, and team management.
- Developing ambitious but realistic strategies for your roster that drive long-term, sustainable careers.
- Bringing knowledge of sports, social media platforms, and digital content to talent strategies.
- Negotiating and securing commercial opportunities for your talent to achieve their revenue targets.
- Diversifying talents’ career and revenue streams beyond brand partnerships.
- Managing talents’ public image and reputation, including crisis management.
- Scouting and signing new talent from all areas of sport, media, and entertainment.
- Mentoring and line managing team members.
- Assessing the commercial and strategic health of talent on your roster.
- Working with Directors on the sporting strategy for the talent management team.
- Reporting on revenue forecasting for your talent and supporting junior Talent Managers.
- Supporting Directors on business processes for effective operation of the talent management team.
- Keeping abreast of the latest industry developments and working with Directors to develop propositions or mitigate risks.
- Networking and positioning yourself as a leader in the business.
- Being a voice in the industry on changes and developments.
- Embodying OTG’s values and high standards when representing the agency.
About You:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience within talent management related to sport and athlete management.
- A sports license (FIFA, Rugby, Cricket or similar) is preferred but not essential.
- A strong track record of managing established, high-profile talent.
- A good leader with experience in recruiting, managing, and mentoring junior team members.
- A clear understanding of strategic talent management and negotiating large deals.
- Proven record of generating talent revenue across multiple streams.
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the talent and social media industry.
- Ability to handle difficult conversations with an empathic and solutions-focused mindset.
- Adaptable self-starter able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong relationship builder and commercially minded.
- High quality of work performed accurately and efficiently.
- Organised and pragmatic with day-to-day tasks.
