Job Description

Role Summary:

We’re looking for an experienced Business Immigration Lawyer to join our award-winning and people-first team at OTB Legal. This is a Hybrid Role based in either our London or Nottingham office.


This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-quality, complex immigration matters for a diverse portfolio of clients — from major international corporations to fast-growing start-ups and SMEs. You’ll provide strategic support across the full spectrum of business immigration services, including sponsor licence applications and compliance, Skilled Worker and Global Talent visas, and broader sponsorship advice.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, client-focused team that values both legal excellence and human connection. Our clients come from dynamic and exciting industries — including gaming, tech, engineering, and beyond — so no two days are the same.

Person Specification:

  1. An interest and passion for business/corporate immigration law
  2. Graduate level
  3. An ability to maintain a professional approach at all times
  4. An affinity with computer packages and willingness to embrace new technology
  5. A clear and concise writing style that communicates effectively and professionally
  6. An strong understanding of complex legal issues
  7. Responsibility for own varied case load
  8. An ability to learn new and developing areas of immigration law independently
  9. A clear practicing certificate if a qualified solicitor
  10. No record of adverse findings by regulatory bodies
  11. Minimum of five years experience in business / corporate immigration law.
  12. Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise deadlines and self-manage workloads effectively
  13. Ability to articulate complex information in a manner that clients can easily understand
  14. Strong analytical skills with the ability to pick out important details
  15. Strong attention to detail with an awareness of the importance of accuracy and the consequences of errors
  16. Willingness to learn and take on constructive feedback and opportunities to improve
  17. Honest and trustworthy with high ethical standards
  18. An awareness of professional standards and regulatory framework which solicitors work within

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Preparing representations and undertaking research on more complex matters
  • Managing a complex case load with responsibility for matters from start to finish
  • Contributing to the teams overall billing target
  • Dealing effectively with new business enquiries and maximising conversion rates
  • General administrative tasks in relation to individual file management
  • Progress new business enquiries towards successful client instructions
  • Liaising with clients to request documents
  • Bundling documents together in support of applications


Qualifications:

5 years experience as a Business Immigration Lawyer.
