Oswestry School is an independent, co‑educational day & boarding school located in the historic town of Oswestry, Shropshire. With a 400‑pupil senior school and 100‑pupil prep school, our newly opened £1.5 million Performing Arts Centre will provide a modern venue for teaching and community work.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Technical Manager role on a part‑time basis (18 hours per week, full year)
- Operate and maintain the high‑spec rig and all technical equipment for productions
- Support the academic curriculum by integrating technology into teaching and learning
- Lead the “Student Tech Crew”, delivering hands‑on vocational training and facilitating pupils gaining technical theatre qualifications
- Maintain rigorous safety and safeguarding standards for all students and staff
- Develop and implement systems for technical operations, influencing culture within the new centre
Qualifications & Experience
- Professional background in technical theatre or related field
- Strong knowledge of rigging, lighting, sound and stage technology
- Experience managing teams and delivering instruction to students
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with willingness to complete required screening
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
