About the Role:

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a critical entry point into our commercial organization and a core component of our centralized Revenue Associate Program. Positioned at the forefront of client engagement and pipeline generation, this role blends hands-on sales experience with structured development, preparing individuals to progress into quota-bearing Sales Specialist roles. At this Grade 9 level, you will contribute to team and departmental initiatives, work effectively under general guidance, and engage with colleagues and routine stakeholders while connecting your daily responsibilities to S&P Global’s purpose and values.

The Impact:

SDRs play a critical role in identifying new revenue opportunities, conducting outreach, and partnering with Sales Specialists to drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities. Through proactive outreach, data-driven research, and strategic campaign execution, you will directly contribute to accelerating pipeline growth and expanding client relationships. This role is ideal for candidates who are ambitious, analytically minded, and looking to fast-track their career in sales within a world-leading organization. You will take accountability for individual and team targets, use research and analysis to resolve varied or non-routine issues, and help the wider team deliver high-quality commercial outcomes.

What’s in it for You:

This is not a support role; it is a launchpad. As a Sales Development Representative, you will contribute directly to revenue growth while building a long-term commercial career. You will gain early exposure to client interactions, senior leadership, high-value accounts, and strategic growth initiatives that can accelerate your progression into a revenue-generating role. You will also benefit from structured training, professional development opportunities, and continuous coaching designed to support your long-term growth within S&P Global.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify new revenue opportunities through proactive outreach and data-driven research.
  • Conduct account analysis and track customer engagement to uncover upsell and expansion opportunities.
  • Partner with Sales Specialists on upsell and cross-sell initiatives, contributing directly to pipeline growth and the expansion of client relationships.
  • Shadow and support live sales cycles, contributing to demonstrations, proposals, and contract execution.
  • Use CRM and sales engagement tools to maintain consistent follow-up, strong pipeline hygiene, and accurate reporting.

All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have experience or internship in sales, client engagement, or financial services.
  • Strong interest in financial markets, client engagement, and commercial career progression.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive self-starter with resilience, intellectual curiosity, and a growth mindset.

We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with contract terms, pricing structures, or commercial processes.
  • Demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn complex product offerings.
  • Ability to apply emotional intelligence and active listening to understand different perspectives, collaborate toward shared goals, prioritize high-impact work, and communicate information clearly.
