The S&P Global Ratings Event Marketing Team is responsible for the strategy, management, and execution of over 400 events annually including webinars, hosted events and 3rd party events & sponsorships. As the Event Marketing Manager, you will own the full end‑to‑end delivery of the events lifecycle for a portfolio of events across EMEA, from setting and implementing event strategy through execution and follow‑up. You will align event programs with business priorities and act as a trusted meetings and events expert, partnering closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders across Analytical, Commercial, and Market Outreach teams to deliver consistent, high‑quality outcomes across the region.
You will collaborate closely with fellow Event Marketers, primarily across London/EMEA, and with global counterparts as needed, as well as campaign and product marketing colleagues, to deliver best in class event experiences that position S&P Global Ratings events as top-of-class in the financial sector.
The Event Marketing Manager role offers a unique opportunity to work across event strategy, marketing, and execution within an industry‑leading institution. You will deliver a diverse portfolio of events, working alongside highly respected industry leaders. S&P Global Ratings delivers over 400 hosted events, sponsorships, and webinars each year. This role provides exposure, variety, and scale, with events ranging from 30 to 600 attendees and from half‑day sessions to multi‑day programs.
Responsibilities- Strategy, Planning & Stakeholder Alignment: For your assigned sectors, own and execute EMEA event and event marketing strategy across hosted events, webinars, roadshows, and third-party industry programs, aligned to sector and business priorities. Partner with senior stakeholders across Analytical, Commercial, Market Outreach, and Marketing to plan, prioritize, and deliver high impact event programs that support brand, engagement, and pipeline objectives. Contribute to regional initiatives with occasional involvement in global event programs.
- Event Delivery & Operations: Lead end-to-end event delivery from concept and planning through execution and post event follow up across live, virtual, and hybrid formats. Project manage EMEA roadshows, coordinating timelines, logistics, and cross functional deliverables. Coordinate industry sponsorships and partnerships aligned to sector objectives and value delivery. Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with venues and suppliers including hotels, AV and production partners, service providers, and promotional item vendors. Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and third-party partners, ensuring commercial value, risk mitigation, and clear communication of terms. Oversee internal and external speaker management, including preparation, briefing, and rehearsal to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Event Marketing, Communications & Audience Engagement: Deliver integrated event marketing campaigns in partnership with campaign and product marketing teams, covering email, registration journeys, digital promotion, social media, and event collateral. Manage audience targeting, invitations, and registration data, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and brand alignment across all touchpoints. Measure and optimize performance against KPIs including registrations, attendance, engagement, and MQL generation, using insights to improve effectiveness and ROI.
- Reporting, Analytics & Performance Insight: Produce clear post event reporting on performance, engagement, and commercial impact for senior stakeholders. Track and analyze key metrics including attendance, pipeline influence, and MQL contribution where applicable. Use data and feedback to identify trends, assess effectiveness, and inform future event strategy and investment decisions.
- Budget, Compliance & Portfolio Management: Manage events within approved budgets, maintaining accurate tracking and forecasting while delivering high quality attendee experiences. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, insurance, health and safety, and internal governance requirements. Support portfolio administration, event calendars, and continuous improvement of event processes, tools, and best practices across EMEA.
An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 5-7 years of progressive experience in event planning and/or event marketing. Experience with Virtual, Hybrid and In-Person event planning, execution and reporting. Experience working in an Event Marketing role (in addition to experience in a core-events execution role) preferred. Experience working with third party event providers, event sponsors and/or client relationships and fulfilment. A good understanding of financial markets and S&P’s business environment, including knowledge of Ratings’ analytical products and services is a plus. Experience in a regulated industry is desirable, e.g. Banking, Insurance, Fund Management. Marketo, On24, Cvent, GlobalMeet, Adobe Suite (AEM), SalesForce or similar experience, (i.e. Eloqua or Pardot instead of Marketo). Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively in a team-oriented, global, and multi-cultural environment. The ideal candidate has a passion for events and event marketing, is highly organized, has a sense of urgency, and a strong customer service focus. Bachelor’s degree preferred, or relevant experience as outlined above. Additional languages are a nice-to-have (French, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Arabic). Some travel will be required from time to time in Europe, and infrequently to wider EMEA destinations.
All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week. We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
