About the Role:
The Associate Director position is within the Metals & Mining group with the S&P Global Energy organization. The Metals & Mining group provides data and research on the entire mining value chain from exploration and mine pipelines through demand and price forecasting.
Responsibilities and Impact:
- The Associate Director will work closely with peers in both the S&P Global Energy organization along with S&P Global Market Intelligence to create comprehensive, cohesive and transparent coverage of the pricing, supply and demand outlooks for critical minerals – from assets to downstream demand to address multiple client needs/workflows.
- Manage a team of analysts to create asset driven cost models for a variety of critical minerals covering both the up and mid-stream.
- Provide subject matter expert input to refine the client user interface.
- Work with other teams on product & data roadmaps.
- Build an understanding of customer needs and work towards maintaining strong working relationships with customers.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other groups and stakeholders across the entire S&P Global business.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
- Experience creating bottoms-up economic models, preferably for the mining or commodities industry.
- Proven track record of successful people leadership.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- High technical literacy with delivery toolsets (Excel, SQL, Python etc.).
- Strong commercial mindset, with the ability to work with many stakeholders and take product from idea to reality.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the mining industry, at a mining company or financial institution covering the mining sector.
- Strong knowledge of metal markets and supply chains.
- Experience leading product development.
