We are currently looking to make a key hire in the form of an Associate Director of Information Governance, who working with the senior leadership team across the business, will own the information governance strategy at OSTTRA, driving the growth and development of the information governance function and building out capability within the organisation to ensure alignment between the wider OSTTRA business strategy and delivery of the new data governance programme.
As the Associate Director of Information Governance you will own the OSTTRA enterprise Information Governance function, working with each of our divisions and corporate functions to lead strategy development and program implementation to comply with laws and regulations, and corporate policies and objectives. You will also oversee the design, implementation, and enhancement of an information governance strategy and programme to comply with privacy, confidentiality, and information-security-related laws and regulations, and corporate policies and objectives. In addition, you will anticipate and direct programme changes to support continued compliance with the evolving information management and data protection landscape and furtherance of company objectives. The scope of information governance encompasses personal information, employee, client and company information, systems, and infrastructure controls related to retention periods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish an information management and protection framework for an effective enterprise-wide information governance program and direct day-to-day activities, including program objectives, policies, procedures, training, and communication.
- Develop, implement and enforce policies and supporting protocols to ensure statutory, regulatory, ethical and privacy requirements are met for the management of information assets in all formats, including hard-copy and electronic.
- Establish eligibility reporting and approval processes needed to support the routine disposition of information and records in accordance to company policy.
- Identify information management and protection laws and regulations and implement actions to ensure compliance.
- Effectively represent the company’s positions and advocate internal and external policy to shape the development of new laws and regulations consistent with company objectives.
- Develop and implement a compliance monitoring system.
- Coordinate a company-wide risk assessment process to identify potential risks and control solutions.
- Monitor actions to identify emerging risks and close gaps.
- Create internal partnerships with key stakeholders to influence and align business-area actions that are needed to achieve program objectives.
- Serve as a consultant to business functions leaders.
What We’re Looking For:
- An established Information Governance professional with at least 10 years of relevant experience in information governance, compliance, legal, privacy, information security, or related areas.
- A proven track record of building and implementing information governance and records management frameworks and strategies within a data analytics, financial services, law firm, professional services or consulting firm.
- Sustained Information governance experience, specifically in the areas of personal information, company information, systems, and infrastructure.
- Broad knowledge of information management and protection laws, regulations and best practices.
- Significant and demonstrable experience of designing, managing, and delivering large-scale, company-wide information governance projects.
- BA/BS degree from an accredited university.
- Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence the actions of internal stakeholders and manage relationships with external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One or more of the following related professional certifications: Certified Records Manager (ICRM), Information Governance Professional (IGP), Project Management Professional (PMI), Certified Information Privacy Professional (IAPP), Certified Information Governance Officer (CIGO).
