Ossett Academy & Accord Sixth Form are seeking an ambitious and dynamic Teacher of Humanities to join our vibrant department. This is an exciting opportunity for a practitioner who is eager to shape a diverse, forward-thinking curriculum and lead a classroom of inquisitive minds. We are looking for a professional who is deeply invested in pupil attainment and aspirations across all ability levels and fostering a lifelong love for discovery.

The successful candidate will promote high standards of achievement through effective teaching and learning, cultivating a vibrant, high‑challenge environment where pupils thrive. They will also play a key role in shaping an inclusive, innovative curriculum that reflects our diverse pupil body, utilising adaptive teaching practices to empower pupils of all ability levels to reach their full potential.

The position is on a full‑time, temporary basis until 31 August 2027 in the first instance and offers an exciting opportunity to teach History, Geography, and Life across Key Stage 3. Applications are welcomed from teachers across the experience range.

We offer an extensive programme of academy and Trust Professional Development to ensure all colleagues continue to develop as practitioners and have opportunities to work collaboratively across subjects and across academies within our Trust. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) will have an experienced subject mentor assigned from day one in post. Colleagues are supported through their early career years with regular check‑ins from line managers and opportunities to meet with other ECT’s across the Trust and colleagues from HR where any further support and guidance may be required.

We are an inclusive academy and Trust and embrace opportunities to develop all colleagues on their journey to success. All newly appointed teaching colleagues receive a bespoke onboarding induction including their first day off‑timetable to ensure sufficient time and preparation can take place.
