About the Company
Our client is a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation and a subsidiary of a global business. Operating within a highly regulated environment, they manufacture specialist hoses, conduits, backshells, and interconnect solutions for aerospace and industrial applications. They are seeking a Quality Technician to join their Quality team in Slough. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Inspector or Quality Technician looking to develop their career within a world-class aerospace manufacturing environment.
The Role
The Quality Technician will play a key role in ensuring incoming materials and components meet required specifications and quality standards before entering the manufacturing process. Working as part of a proactive and flexible Quality team, you will perform inspection, measurement, testing, root cause analysis, and documentation activities while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, measure, and test incoming materials and components to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Ensure all incoming goods conform to aerospace quality standards and internal procedures.
- Identify, document, and escalate non-conformances in a timely manner.
- Support the smooth flow of inspected materials into production or stores.
- Work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve quality concerns relating to incoming goods.
- Ensure traceability and compliance requirements are maintained at all times.
- Support and, where appropriate, lead investigations into supplier and internal quality issues.
- Participate in root cause analysis activities and support the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Support quality improvement initiatives aimed at reducing defects and improving supplier performance.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
- Complete First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation where required.
- Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Ensure documentation supports traceability, customer requirements, and audit compliance.
- Produce clear and accurate quality reports and inspection summaries.
- Ensure all inspection activities are carried out in accordance with established procedures and quality requirements.
- Support compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific quality standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience within a Quality Technician, Quality Inspector, Incoming Goods Inspector, Goods In Inspector, or Manufacturing Quality role.
- Experience within aerospace, defence, automotive, electronics, precision engineering, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Good understanding of quality principles and quality management systems.
- Familiarity with AS9100 and aerospace quality requirements would be advantageous.
- Experience preparing and reviewing First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation.
- Experience raising and managing NCRs and supporting corrective actions.
- Ability to use a variety of analogue and digital measuring equipment.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements.
- Knowledge of inspection techniques, control methods, and quality documentation.
- Understanding of QRQC methodologies and continuous improvement principles.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to analyse inspection data and produce accurate reports.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
