This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant to join a well-established, growing and innovative business and advisory firm based in Camberley who provide advice and accounting solutions to help entrepreneurial and high growth businesses. Office based and working in a friendly, supportive team, this is a great opportunity for an ambitious, driven and versatile individual.
Leading the Business Services and Outsourcing team, reporting to the Directors, you will be responsible for all aspects of a portfolio of clients, delivering end to end services and long-term sustainable value to businesses with a range of solutions and advice such as accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, VAT, management accounting and statutory accounts and self-assessment corporate and personal tax returns. This role requires an experienced and qualified or newly qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant. For applicants with less experience, there may be scope to develop, under the guidance of Directors in order to gain the necessary experience to fulfil the role to its full potential.
Essential requirements:
- ACA or ACCA Qualifications
- High level IT skills including experience with a variety of accounting software packages, and the ability to adapt quickly to new software
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence in using VLOOKUP, SUMIF and SUMIFS
- Experience of working in a busy, fast paced practice environment
- Solid understanding of the key VAT rules as well as being proficient in VAT return preparation, review and submission
- Previous experience working in public practice, and in an 'outsourced' finance function where regular contact is needed with clients
- Proficiency in the preparation and review of statutory accounts under FRS 102 & FRS 105, personal, partnership and corporation tax returns, including some more complex cases
- Experience of managing a team and keeping tight control over daily work flows ensuring all deadlines and client needs are met
Broadly, responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Responsibility for statutory accounts, corporation tax and personal tax returns, VAT returns, payroll and bookkeeping
- Responsibility for management reports (annual and monthly)
- Working closely with the Managing Director with all accounting operations including billing, cost accounting, stock and work in progress, cash flow and revenue recognition for a variety of clients
- Supervising, managing and motivating outsource department team
