The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
Current license by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a registered professional nurse. Certified or recertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). Must be ACLS and PALS certified. Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred, preferably in Orthopaedics.
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education. Masters Degree in Nursing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs pre-anesthetic evaluations with appropriate documentation of findings / pertinent information regarding the choice of anesthesia.
- Reviews condition of the patient and their medical record immediately prior to induction, including pertinent lab data, time of administration, dosage of pre-anesthesia, and an appraisal of any changes in the condition of the patient.
- Interviews and examines patients preparing to undergo anesthesia to ensure he/she is an appropriate candidate for the planned anesthetic.
- Makes recommendations for anesthetic plans appropriate to the patient’s condition and the procedure to be performed.
- Verifies function of equipment prior to the administration of anesthesia.
- Administers anesthesia to patients; ensures adequate ventilation and circulatory function of the patient during all anesthetics.
- Performs intra-operative monitoring, remaining continuously present to monitor the patient and provide anesthesia care.
- Performs appropriate, complete, and timely documentation of the anesthesia record, including post-operative orders.
- Accompanies patients to PACU, providing appropriate personnel a complete report of specific problems presented by the patient’s condition, the anesthetic agent used, drugs given, reversal agents, and surgical procedures performed.
- Evaluates patients appropriate for discharge and signs discharge order.
- Participates in continual training and education opportunities as an integral part of maintaining the delivery of high-quality care.
- CRNAs are medically directed by anesthesiologists and work collaboratively with the patient care team.
