We are seeking a pro-active and strategically minded Learning and Development Manager to design and launch a comprehensive learning academy that supports organisational priorities and workforce development needs. Working cross-functionally with senior leaders, HR and subject matter experts, you will define and deliver a clear vision and roadmap for capability building, leading end to end implementation of governance, operating models and delivery frameworks.

You will identify current and future skill gaps, develop structured learning pathways and ensure access to high quality, future focused learning experiences. You will drive measurable improvements in skills, performance and career progression, continuously enhancing the academy to meet evolving business needs.

What You’ll do:

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning by delivering training, coaching, mentoring and cross functional development initiatives.
  • Define and deliver the vision, strategy and roadmap for the skills academy aligned to business priorities.
  • Lead end to end design, implementation and rollout of the academy, including governance, operating model, communications and change management.
  • Identify current and future skills gaps through stakeholder engagement and workforce analysis.
  • Develop structured learning pathways, curricula and accreditation frameworks across key capability areas.
  • Partner with senior leaders, HR and subject matter experts to co-create impactful and relevant learning content.
  • Select and evaluate external training providers, platforms and technologies to ensure high-quality, cost-effective learning solutions.
  • Establish and track metrics to measure learning effectiveness, engagement and return on investment.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience designing and delivering impactful learning, skills or capability development programmes within a complex organisation.
  • Strong understanding of skills frameworks and capability building approaches, with the ability to translate these into practical learning solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, influence and build effective partnerships with senior stakeholders across business and HR functions.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, drive delivery and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including budget management and the ability to evaluate learning effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Experience working with learning technologies (e.g. LMS platform) and managing external providers to deliver high quality learning solutions.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship standards, funding models and relevant regulatory requirements.
