We are seeking an exceptional Head of Commercial & Risk to lead Osprey’s commercial strategy, governance and risk management, supporting sustainable growth while protecting the business from commercial exposure.

Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, you will provide expert leadership on contractual, commercial, insurance and risk matters, lead complex contract negotiations, and ensure key opportunities and risks are effectively assessed and managed before contract commitment.

Acting as Osprey’s commercial authority, you will build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and stakeholders to secure commercially advantageous outcomes and strengthen organisational resilience.

  • What You’ll do
  • Lead and shape the Commercial Function, driving best practice, governance, and consistency across the business.
  • Develop and deliver the commercial strategy, supporting sustainable growth, profitability, and long‑term success.
  • Lead the review, negotiation, and approval of customer and supplier contracts, ensuring commercial, legal, operational, and risk requirements are effectively managed.
  • Provide commercial leadership on key strategic opportunities, supporting complex contract negotiations from bid stage through to contract award.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks, ensuring significant risks are appropriately managed and escalated when required.
  • Review commercial proposals, pricing strategies, and contractual positions to maximise value and support successful client outcomes.
  • Represent the organisation in executive‑level meetings and contract negotiations, influencing outcomes and protecting business interests.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, contractual commitments, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Build, mentor, and inspire a high‑performing commercial team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a senior commercial leadership role, with responsibility for developing and delivering commercial strategy.
  • Extensive experience negotiating, reviewing, and managing complex customer and supplier contracts.
  • In‑depth understanding of commercial, contractual, legal, operational, and insurance considerations within contract management.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting and leading complex commercial negotiations for strategic business opportunities.
  • Strong knowledge of contractual risk management, including the development and implementation of commercial risk frameworks.
  • Experience reviewing commercial models, pricing strategies, and contractual positions, with a strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, suppliers, partners, and senior leaders.
