The Graduate Engineer will work in a team of engineers responsible for developing engineering solutions and concepts for a wide variety of projects including heavy lift and transport operations. The graduate engineer will report directly to the Senior Project Engineer. The successful candidate will be a motivated individual with strong mechanical knowledge, ready to thrive in a fast‑paced and rewarding environment. They will have a degree in a relevant field of engineering (mechanical‑civil‑structural), with proven knowledge and experience of MS Office and AutoCAD (or similar software packages) and will hold a valid UK driving licence.
Responsibilities
- Create innovative engineering solutions that support sales and tendering activities.
- Develop and apply structural calculations to assess, select and validate operational approaches.
- Use creative problem solving and forward thinking to design solutions that meet client needs while adhering to the highest standards.
- Build strong relationships by collaborating with internal teams and engaging directly with clients on‑site.
- Get involved with projects from concept through to execution, applying sound engineering principles every step of the way.
- Champion high standards by ensuring all decisions align with HSEQ policies and best practices.
Requirements
- A relevant degree (minimum 2:2) in Mechanical, Structural, Civil or Construction Engineering.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to produce clear and professional documentation.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A collaborative team player who understands team dynamics and contributes with a positive, professional attitude.
- A keen eye for detail, with a high level of accuracy in all work undertaken.
