With an extensive network of service centres and mobile response units across the UK, they deliver rapid on-site hose replacement and maintenance solutions to customers across a wide range of industries, including construction, agriculture, manufacturing and plant hire. Due to continued growth, their Gloucestershire and Worcestershire service centres are each looking to add a motivated technician to their teams. We have two positions available — one based in Gloucester and one based in Worcester.

Role Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled individual from a mechanical background to develop a career in hydraulic hose technology. We welcome applications from mechanical fitters, mobile fitters, plant technicians, HGV mechanics or anyone with a practical, hands-on engineering background - full and comprehensive training in hydraulic hose assembly and replacement will be provided.

As a Mobile Hydraulic Hose Technician, you will operate from a fully-equipped mobile response vehicle, attending customer sites throughout Gloucestershire or Worcestershire (depending on your base location) to diagnose, fabricate and replace hydraulic hose assemblies. You will be the face of the business to its customers, so a professional attitude and commitment to excellent service are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to customer call-outs, attending sites throughout the Gloucestershire or Worcestershire area (depending on your base location) in a fully-equipped branded mobile response vehicle.
  • Diagnose hydraulic hose failures and identify the correct replacement specifications.
  • Fabricate and fit hydraulic hose assemblies on-site using the fully-equipped mobile workshop.
  • Deliver a fast, safe and professional service to minimise customer downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of all jobs completed, parts used and time on site.
  • Manage and replenish stock within the mobile unit, ensuring it is properly equipped at all times.
  • Liaise with the service centre team to co-ordinate workload and assist with workshop-based hose building as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements on customer sites and on the public road.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, representing the company professionally at all times.
  • Identify upselling and service improvement opportunities and report these back to the service centre.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • A background in a mechanical discipline, such as mechanical fitting, mobile plant maintenance, HGV mechanics, agricultural engineering or a similar hands-on trade.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications or component data.
  • Good problem-solving skills with a methodical and practical approach to fault diagnosis.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence (essential for driving the mobile response vehicle).
  • Ability to work independently, manage your own workload and prioritise jobs effectively.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in varied outdoor and industrial environments.

Desirable (not essential — full training provided):

  • Previous experience with hydraulic systems or hose assemblies.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic hose products and coupling systems.
  • Experience working in a field-based or mobile technical role.

Training & Development

We are fully committed to investing in your development. Successful candidates will receive:

  • A full and structured induction programme at your base service centre (Gloucester or Worcester).
  • Comprehensive hands-on training in hydraulic hose technology, assembly fabrication and product knowledge.
  • Accredited training and ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Clear career progression pathways within a growing national network.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, commission and overtime.
  • Company mobile response vehicle provided.
  • Full uniform and personal protective equipment supplied.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.
