We have an exciting opportunity for professionals with a process industry background to join one of Europe\βs leading manufacturers of bespoke filtration technology. Thanks to continued growth, this company has created a new role within the Sales Department, looking to add a Technical Specialist to their team.
As a Technical Specialist, you\βll specify, cost, tender, and win profitable orders for bespoke process filtration solutions, based on the company\βs technologies that serve a variety of industries.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Select and size a range of process filtration technology including cartridge, bag, and activated carbon filters, coalescers, and strainers.
- Conceptually design suitable pressure vessels to suit the selected filtration technology.
- Prepare bespoke cost estimates using historical information combined with sub-vendor contractor enquiry pricing.
- Prepare techno-commercial tenders in line with customer requirements.
- Resolve technical and commercial queries raised with the tender to reach an agreed position acceptable to all parties.
- Prepare orders for handover to the project execution team, remaining involved initially to provide input to any changes required.
- Provide after-sales support to customers addressing any queries or issues with media and hardware performance.
- Research and select suitable subcontractors and suppliers as demanded by project requirements.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on company technology and solutions to customers.
- Travel to customer and supplier sites when required to attend meetings and site visits in person.
- Adhere to and comply with ISO standards and all health & safety requirements.
- Attend the company\βs office in Surrey a few times a year for Sales Meetings.
Skills & Experience
- A process industry background in either water treatment, pharmaceutical, or oil sectors.
- Familiar with a variety of process filtration and separation technologies, comfortable with sizing from first principles.
- Familiar with design and construction principles of pressure vessels, knowledge of PED, ASME VIII, PD, and EN design codes.
- An understanding of material compatibility and corrosion principles.
- Understanding of enquiry documentation including process/mechanical datasheets and client specifications.
- Experience in preparing tenders and supporting documentation.
- Solid grounding in preparing cost estimates for bespoke fabricated equipment and solutions.
- Ability to communicate and influence effectively with both internal & external partners and stakeholders.
- Proficient with Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Personal efficiency, time management skills, and the ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Use of Pressure Vessel Design Software (e.g., PV Elite or VVD).
- Experience in selecting and sizing cartridge filters for liquid and gas applications.
