THE OPPORTUNITY This is a hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys getting to the root of a fault and putting it right. You will test, diagnose, repair and modify electronic components and equipment used in demanding industrial and rail environments the kind of kit that has to work first time, every time, because people and operations depend on it. You will work across both new and established product lines, supporting customers, OEMs and manufacturers representatives, with occasional travel to customer sites where a problem is best solved in person. It suits a methodical, curious engineer who takes genuine satisfaction in a clean diagnosis and a proper repair. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING * Fault diagnosis. Test faulty equipment using specialist test equipment and software, applying your understanding of how electronic units and systems actually function to isolate the cause. * Repair and modification. Adjust, calibrate, align and modify circuitry and components, recording the effect of each change on unit performance. * Inspection. Examine industrial and rail equipment for correct assembly and installation, and for defects such as loose connections and frayed wiring. * Technical interpretation.
