The role You'll represent our client on customer sites and keep laboratory fume cupboards, safety cabinets and extract systems safe, compliant and reliable. The work is varied: you could be at a secondary school one day and a university research lab or hospital the next. What you'll be doing * Carrying out planned servicing and COSHH Regulation 9 / LEV examinations on fume cupboards, recirculatory filtration cabinets and safety cabinets * Doing performance testing such as face velocity and containment checks, and recording the results accurately * Finding and fixing mechanical, electrical and airflow faults, including fans, controls, alarms, sashes and ductwork * Replacing filters and parts, and carrying out remedial work * Helping install and commission new equipment on lab projects * Producing clear service reports and compliance certificates * Following site safety rules, including permits, risk assessments and method statements * Giving customers practical advice and spotting opportunities for upgrades or replacements What our client is looking for * A background as a field service engineer, maintenance engineer or HVAC/ventilation engineer, or in a similar technical role * Sound mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills * An understanding of airflow, extraction or LEV systems, or a willingness to learn (full training is provided) * Confidence working on your own, managing your day and talking to customers professionally * Good attention to detail when testing and writing reports * A full UK driving licence Nice to have * Experience with fume cupboards, safety cabinets or laboratory equipment * Knowledge of BS EN 14175 or COSHH LEV testing, or a P601 qualification * An electrical qualification, such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 * CSCS card or SSSTS * Experience working in schools, universities, healthcare or lab environments (DBS check required)
