We are looking for a hands-on Lead / Senior Control Systems Engineer to take ownership of projects from start to finish—design, programming, testing, and commissioning. You’ll work closely with the Commercial Manager and lead a team of engineers, helping drive quality delivery while mentoring junior staff, grads, and apprentices. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in growing the team and shaping the office.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning
- Designing and delivering control systems (PLC, SCADA, HMI)
- Leading client meetings, site visits, and technical discussions
- Programming across platforms like Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi, AVEVA/Wonderware, GE SCADA
- Supporting and mentoring engineers to get the best out of the team
- Producing technical documentation and ensuring compliance
- Occasional site commissioning (some short stays away)
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years in a senior/lead control systems role
- Strong experience with PLCs, SCADA, HMI, drives, and instrumentation
- Background in Electrical or Software Engineering (or similar)
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers
- Comfortable working directly with clients
- Full UK driving licence
Nice to have:
- Experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Wonderware (or similar)
- Instrumentation and electrical experience
