A well-established manufacturer within the pump industry is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth within its site services / pump service division. This role focuses on developing service-led revenue streams across industrial and infrastructure markets. We need someone with a strong technical pump background in either sales or service who is looking for their next move, focusing on providing service solutions to customers.
- The Role
- Develop and grow new business opportunities within pump servicing, maintenance, repair, and aftermarket solutions
- Identify and target key customers across water, utilities, industrial, and infrastructure sectors
- Build strong relationships with end users, contractors, and partners to secure long-term service agreements
- Prepare and present commercial proposals, negotiate terms, and close service contracts
- Manage and grow a sustainable sales pipeline aligned with strategic growth targets
- Work closely with service and operations teams to ensure high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging service opportunities
- Represent the business at trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events
- Contribute to pricing strategy, forecasting, and commercial performance reporting
- Proven experience in business development or sales within the pump, service, or rotating equipment sector
- Strong understanding of pump servicing, aftermarket, and site-based engineering solutions
- Track record of winning new business and growing service revenue
- Confident communicator with strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Commercially astute with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and KPI management
- Comfortable working autonomously in a field-based, customer-facing role
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
- Strong knowledge within the pump industry
- Sales experience preferred but not essential if you are from a service background looking to come off the tools
