If you’re an astute leader and commercially proven Manufacturing Manager, then we’re keen to talk about a great opportunity to lead the operations of an innovative manufacturer, who in recent years have strengthened their reputation as a world leading expert in their space. As the Manufacturing Manager, you’ll sit as part of the Senior Management Team, with 5 direct reports who underpin a total manufacturing team of approximately 60 people. You’ll be guiding the operations strategic development, as you successfully achieve company aims and objectives through great management and motivation of your team. The role also offers a competitive compensation package that includes private medical insurance, attractive pension employer contribution, a rewards platform and early finishes on Fridays.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and motivate people across the Manufacturing operation, coaching and encouraging them to achieve results and meet targets, all while supporting company values.
- Motivate and develop direct reports by setting, agreeing and reviewing individual and business objectives and KPIs to encourage the achievement of goals, identifying skills gaps and initiating recruitment and training as appropriate.
- Lead the management of manufacturing responses to immediate problems, coordinating and communicating across the production teams to implement immediate solutions and preventative actions to drive continuous improvements.
- Formulate, agree, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators such as Yield, Labour, On Time Delivery and revenue for the Manufacturing Unit to enable the site to meet its business operating profit.
- Formulate, agree and implement a site manufacturing plan up to six months ahead to meet anticipated business requirements.
- Identify new opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and capacity to drive up business operating profit.
- Produce Capital Expenditure proposals that invest in the business with this aim in mind.
- Liaise and co-operate with colleagues in the Senior Management team to deliver the agreed business strategy through the effective utilisation of all resources.
- Liaise with internal and external customers and suppliers to promote the site and build long term relationships to support the efficient running of the business.
- Eradicate non-value-added costs to improve production efficiencies and identify and implement cost saving opportunities.
- Support and apply all Company Policies such as Health & Safety, Quality and HR policies through the Team, in order to maintain a safe, controlled and well managed team.
- Demonstrate and act as a role model for Company standards of behaviour and values.
- Set the standards and expectations for all staff and the Production Management Team in order to maintain the behaviours that support an effectively run and efficient manufacturing operation.

Essential Experience & Education
- Experience and success within a world class manufacturing company, ideally electromechanical processing industry.
- Astute leader who can balance achieving challenging targets for quality, cost and delivery as well as profit and return on capital.
- Understand and interpret manufacturing statistical data relevant to control of materials, labour and processes.
- Proven experience in creating and implementing financial saving strategies.
- Proficient with using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Platforms with a deep understanding and proven track record of success of delivering sustainable change through Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Graduate with a Bachelor degree, or equivalent level of experience, ideally in the electrochemical processing industry.
- Proven track record of Managing and Leading a Manufacturing Operation with no less than 50 staff across a number of shifts.
- Experience and demonstrable track record of delivering results and improvements in Cost, Quality and Delivery.
Desirable Experience & Education
- Masters level degree in Business related or Scientific subject.
- 5 years experience in a Manufacturing Management role in Automotive and/or Aerospace Industry.
- Project Management Qualification PRINCE2 Foundation certification, or APM PFQ (Project Fundamentals Qualification) certification or similar equivalent.
