Overview
We’re looking for a driven Area Sales Manager to take ownership of the North West region within the vacuum automation, material handling, and wider industrial manufacturing sector. This role is ideal for someone with external sales experience and a solid background working with technical or engineered products. You’ll be responsible for growing the territory, developing new business, and strengthening relationships with existing customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow sales across the North West, focusing on both new business and existing accounts
- Carry out regular customer visits to understand applications and identify opportunities
- Develop and implement a territory sales plan to achieve revenue and margin targets
- Work collaboratively with internal teams including engineering, technical support, and customer service
- Provide accurate sales forecasting, reporting, and market insight
- Deliver product demonstrations and handle technical enquiries (full training provided)
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and commercial agreements
- Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events
- Maintain accurate CRM records and documentation
- Represent the business professionally across the region
Requirements
- Proven external sales experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong track record in business development and account management
- Comfortable travelling daily across the North West region
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Commercially switched on with the ability to identify and close opportunities
- Self-motivated and able to manage a territory independently
- Technical aptitude or experience with automation, robotics, pneumatics, material handling, or engineered components (advantageous)
- Full UK driving licence
