An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to take a leading role in delivering high-quality automation and control system projects from concept through to commissioning. This is a hands-on position combining technical delivery with team leadership, offering the chance to work on complex, innovative projects while mentoring and developing engineers.
The Role
- Lead the full project lifecycle: design, development, programming, testing, and commissioning
- Develop control system solutions in collaboration with clients
- Programme and configure PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems
- Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers, graduates, and apprentices
- Attend client meetings and conduct site surveys
- Produce detailed technical documentation and ensure compliance
- Support site commissioning activities (occasional travel required)
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in a senior or lead control systems role
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar
- Strong PLC, SCADA, and HMI experience (e.g. Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Wonderware/AVEVA)
- Proven experience in system design, programming, and modification
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
- Instrumentation and electrical experience desirable
