The role bridges technical engineering and commercial operations, supporting both customers and internal teams with specification, troubleshooting, and quotation development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support & Customer Engagement
- Provide technical advice and support to customers on hydraulic components, systems, and applications.
- Interpret customer requirements and translate them into practical, cost-effective hydraulic solutions.
- Assist customers with product selection, system design considerations, and performance optimisation.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic system issues and provide diagnostic recommendations.
- Application Engineering & Specification
- Specify hydraulic components and systems (e.g. pumps, valves, cylinders, filtration, power units).
- Develop technical solutions based on application requirements and operational constraints.
- Produce technical documentation including specifications, datasheets, and system descriptions.
- Support bespoke or engineered system enquiries where required.
- Commercial & Quotation Support
- Prepare accurate and competitive quotations based on technical specifications.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal procurement teams to ensure correct product selection and pricing.
- Support the sales team with technical input during customer discussions and project development.
- Ensure all proposals meet both technical and commercial objectives.

Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong background in hydraulics / fluid power engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of hydraulic components and systems: pumps (open and closed circuit, fixed and variable displacement), motors (open and closed circuit, fixed and variable displacement), valves (including proportional load independent spool type valves), cylinders, filtration, accumulators, etc.
- Ability to interpret technical requirements and provide engineered solutions.
- Experience preparing technical quotations or supporting commercial proposals.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills within hydraulic systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers and colleagues.
