Are you passionate about industrial electrical automation, pneumatics and associated technology delivering intelligent engineering solutions? I am looking for an experienced Area Sales Engineer to join a leading industrial automation company, where you’ll combine your technical expertise with a consultative sales approach to support customers, this could be looking after either the distribution partners, or the OEM customer base within the East Anglia area.

This role focuses on delivering high-value Electrical Automation solutions, strengthening long-term partnerships, and driving sustainable growth.

Your Role

  • Act as a trusted advisor to either OEM customers or distributors, helping them optimise their processes through innovative automation solutions.
  • Develop and grow relationships with distribution partners and key industrial customers, or the OEM customer base.
  • Support customers in identifying, designing, and implementing automation solutions.
  • Drive sales growth and identify new opportunities.
  • Deliver value-based, solution-oriented sales rather than product-only approaches.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide technically and commercially robust solutions.
  • Contribute to joint business planning and market development initiatives.
  • Act as the face of the business, representing a strong, innovative automation brand.

Your Technical Expertise

  • Strong foundation in industrial automation and Electrical Automation, with particular focus on PLC control technology and electrical systems.
  • Servo drive technologies, stepper motor control and electrical automation.
  • Handling solutions including pneumatics, electrical drive cylinders and associated drives.

  • Experience in industrial electrical automation, pneumatics and control systems.
  • A consultative, solution-oriented sales mindset.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand customer processes and translate them into automation solutions.
  • Proactive, self-driven approach with a focus on results and customer value.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Requirements

  • Degree/HNC or equivalent experience in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronics Engineering.
