About the job
We are currently working with a bold, fast-growing company within the compressed air industry. They are seeking a Service & Sales Engineer to support and develop business across Cornwall and Devon. This is a dual-role position combining hands-on service engineering with commercial responsibility, ideal for an experienced compressor engineer who is confident identifying opportunities and driving additional revenue through service contracts, upgrades, and equipment sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repair of air compressors and associated equipment.
- Diagnose faults across electrical and mechanical systems.
- Perform installations and commissioning of compressor systems.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards.
- Provide high levels of customer service on-site.
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and develop opportunities to upsell service contracts, parts, and new equipment.
- Promote preventative maintenance agreements to existing customers.
- Generate new business within your territory.
- Build long-term relationships with customers across multiple industries.
- Prepare quotes and follow up on sales opportunities.
About You
- Proven experience working on air compressors (essential).
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- FGAS certification would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Commercially aware with a proactive approach to sales and upselling.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a field-based role.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
