An expanding engineering business is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery of control systems projects for key clients. The role focuses on commissioning and supporting PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems on-site, working to tight project deadlines. You will be involved in installation supervision, system commissioning, fault finding, and ensuring compliance with relevant electrical standards, including NICEIC requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commission PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems (e.g. Siemens, Allen Bradley)
- Support on-site installation, testing, and fault resolution
- Identify and rectify commissioning snags
- Interpret electrical schematics and control panel wiring diagrams
- Ensure compliance with electrical standards and certification requirements
- Work collaboratively within project teams to meet delivery deadlines
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience in commissioning, electrical installation, or service support
- Strong understanding of control systems and electrical installations
- Relevant electrical qualifications (C&G, NVQ3, ONC/HNC/HND, 18th Edition)
- Experience with PLC systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley preferred)
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
