The predicted salary is between 55 - 55 £ per hour.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to take a leading role in delivering high-quality automation and control system projects from concept through to commissioning. This is a hands-on position combining technical delivery with team leadership, offering the chance to work on complex, innovative projects while mentoring and developing engineers.

The Role

  • Lead the full project lifecycle: design, development, programming, testing, and commissioning
  • Develop control system solutions in collaboration with clients
  • Programme and configure PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers, graduates, and apprentices
  • Attend client meetings and conduct site surveys
  • Produce detailed technical documentation and ensure compliance
  • Support site commissioning activities (occasional travel required)

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior or lead control systems role
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar
  • Strong PLC, SCADA, and HMI experience (e.g. Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Wonderware/AVEVA)
  • Proven experience in system design, programming, and modification
  • Previous leadership or mentoring experience
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
  • Instrumentation and electrical experience desirable
