Osprey Engineering Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a respected fluid power business for an experienced Sales Engineer to cover the West Midlands. Selling hydraulic hoses, fittings, couplings and the wider fluid power product range into end users, OEMs and MRO customers across automotive, manufacturing, construction and heavy industry.
This is a predominantly field-based role managing a live, established customer base with genuine scope to develop new business across the region and build long-term technical relationships with engineering, maintenance and purchasing contacts.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing and growing a live customer base of OEMs, end users and MRO accounts across the West Midlands
- Selling hydraulic hoses, couplings, fittings, adaptors and the wider fluid power product range
- Working closely with technical, engineering and maintenance contacts to specify the right solution for the application
- Identifying new business opportunities within the territory and converting them into long-term accounts
- Carrying out site visits, surveys and technical meetings across the region
- Maintaining accurate pipeline, forecasting and CRM data
- Working alongside internal sales, technical and operations teams to deliver a first-class service
What we're looking for:
- Proven external sales experience within hydraulics, fluid power, pneumatics or a closely related technical/industrial sector
- Strong technical understanding of hose assemblies, fittings, couplings, adaptors and wider fluid power products
- Confident, credible communicator - equally comfortable with a shop-floor engineer, a buyer and a plant manager
- Commercially sharp - you understand margin, specification selling and lifetime account value, not just unit price
- Self-motivated, well organised and able to plan your own diary across a multi-county patch
- Full UK driving licence - this role is on the road daily
- Based within the West Midlands or able to cover the territory from home
