About the Role
The firm is seeking an experienced Senior Associate (4+ PQE) to join its UK Private Client team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering a period of maternity leave. This is a senior, hands-on role within a supportive and well-established team and requires a lawyer who can operate with confidence, manage complex matters independently, and supervise junior colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Advising clients on UK succession, estate, and tax planning matters
- Managing estate administration and probate work independently
- Running a varied caseload efficiently and commercially
- Drafting complex legal documents with minimal supervision, using appropriate precedents
- Applying a practical and commercial approach to legal research and advice delivery
- Supervising, delegating to, and supporting junior members of the team
- Participating in client-facing activities such as meetings, seminars, and presentations
- Contributing to team knowledge, precedents, and know-how initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant SRA Standards, Regulations, and Principles
Qualifications
- Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent, including CILEX)
- A minimum of 4 yearsβ PQE in Private Client work
- Strong estate administration and probate experience (essential)
- Solid technical knowledge of UK succession and tax planning
- Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail
- Strong professional judgement and commercial awareness
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work autonomously
- A STEP qualification is advantageous but not essential.
