Strong Infrastructure Consultant to help design, implement, and optimize IT infrastructure (servers, networks, cloud, storage) for an IT team within a F1 racing team. You don't need an F1 background - but a passion for racing is highly appreciated. Key 5 days a week on site during race season (no shift work)! BUT win bonuses available for the efforts :) You will provide expert technical consultancy, lead migration/upgrade projects, and ensure enterprise-grade security and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Strategy: Develop infrastructure strategies, high-level designs, and roadmaps for network, server, and cloud solutions.
- Implementation: Lead and manage the deployment of hardware, software, and cloud infrastructure.
- Consulting & Analysis: Assess existing client IT environments, identifying improvements and potential risks.
- Project Management: Drive projects, acting as a technical lead, liaising with vendors, and providing status updates to stakeholders.
- Support & Optimization: Perform advanced troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and security enhancements (e.g., PowerShell automation).
- Documentation: Create detailed technical documentation for configurations, procedures, and security policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in Windows/Linux servers, data center operations, and storage (SAN, NAS, Veeam).
- Cloud & Networking: Experience with Azure/AWS, virtualization (VMware/VDI), and network routing/switching (Cisco).
- Certifications: VCP (VMware), CCNP (Cisco), or Microsoft Certified Professional.
- Communication: Proven ability to translate complex technical issues to business stakeholders and manage client expectations.
- Experience: 3-8 years IT infrastructure roles, often involving consultancy or project delivery.
